Week Three of the 365 project!

The winter and a two year old leaves me with little time to be adventurous with
the 365 project. If most of my photos aren't of Kennedy, they are most likely of
food or baked goods, recipes found off of the most addicting site out there...
Pinterest.  Kennedy is at the stage where she only knows how to run, ether that or
she's training early to run track like her Pop-pop. It makes it quite hard to
grab her, let alone her picture. I'm anxiously waiting the spring. When we can
take walks in the park, adventure and look for flowers, and wear tee shirts!
I'm hoping I will be able to get some variety in my pictures when it gets warmer,
but as I said I am chasing a future track runner.

We like to build tents a lot :-)

Miss Diva.

Found this bunch of flowers at Hobby Lobby and just loved them.
I based one of my recent newborn set ups around them.

Roasted vegetables with some olive oil and seasoning.

Found these at BJ's, they were yummy!

We made a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts while shopping for
Aunt Bonnie's 30th Birthday present.

Always crafting!

Pergola Family session.

Nothing is greater than having a returning client. Getting to see families and children grow! I first met the Pergola's almost exactly two years ago to the day, we actually did their second session one day after the one two years ago. Sophia was the age my daughter is now and here they are with their newest daughter Stella, who was celebrating her first birthday in only a few weeks. It was so nice to catch up and see familiar faces. I just love their session, it was hard to pick my favorites!

Week two of the 365 Project!

Here we are two weeks in and I feel like it's already February for some reason.
It's probably just me wishing away the cold and anxiously waiting for the warmer
weather.  This week we celebrated Kennedy's second birthday! It's hard to remember
a time when she wasn't here. We had a good day, out to breakfast at Whole Foods,
though this is the 2nd time we've had breakfast by them and it's not so great.
As we pulled into the parking lot and I told Kennedy we were here she said
"No, restaurant." I said "They have food and tables inside, we're going to eat in here!"
With fake crying and moaning "No Mommy, restaurant." Needless to say she loved
the food and ate like a champ. I had also asked her what she wanted for her
birthday dinner and she told me meatballs, so I made meatballs for dinner, restaurant size
and she ate 3! I don't know where she fits it, but she even asked for more.

All in all it was a great week and I'm ending it with a 2 year old.

As I've said before Kennedy has a great imagination. She had me set up her bear
(that is as big as she is), and a cup, bowl, and fork during lunch time. She has even
gone to try and brush my teeth with her tooth brush and I tell her no thank you
I brushed mine, her reply- "Pretend Mommy." This kid amazes me!

Surviving winter with paint.

I have a newborn session coming up and decided to make a few props
for the baby girl. She was actually born on Kennedy's birthday!

Kennedy opening her gifts. She loves books so I went out and
found some books about birthdays. There aren't a lot out there which
I find surprising and disappointing.

I had Kennedy help me make vegan banana bread muffins for her birthday.
They came out amazing! It was really a breakfast recipe, but I just put them in
cupcake liners and it worked great.

I try to give Kennedy as much independence as possible. It's not always
easy, but she peeled the bananas like a pro!

Happy Birthday little one <3

Avery's Valentine Mini Session

You all might remember a while back when I took my oldest friend Tara's engagement
pictures. Well I finally got their daughter Avery in front of my camera for a little
mini session. I remember Tara telling me that Avery didn't do so well when they had
gotten Christmas pictures done, which Tara's father took them to Picture People!
It's their tradition, blah blah, come on Chris! ;-)
So I one had to prove to Tara's dad that I can get the best pictures of his Granddaughter,
and two knew Avery would do better with me because she knew me.
She did such a great job, listened when I told her to sit, but still comfortable enough
with me to look all around, not nearly as comfortable as my own daughter who
runs amok in the studio. Her pictures are as adorable as she is and I'm so lucky I got
to take them!

Kennedy's 2nd Birthday shoot- If you give a pig a party.

It's hard to believe that two years ago I was anxiously awaiting the arrival
of a baby. Waiting for any sign that she would be on her way. To no avail she
did not want to come out and I was induced. Her personality hasn't changed
in two years, she still does things when she wants to and likes things a certain way,
but she is such a sweet girl. Always sharing and saying hello to people.
I've caught myself recently just taking in what she's doing at the exact moment
she's doing it and thinking how innocent and sweet she is and how lucky I am
to be her Mom. I'm so thankful and lucky to have her in my life.

Planing Kennedy's birthday pictures started months back. She has always loved
"If you give a pig a party" book by Laura Numeroff. It was actually reading this book
last year around her birthday that she tried to say balloon, one of her first words. It
sounded nothing like balloon, but I knew what she was saying and when we would get
to the page with all the balloons, she would get very excited and try to say it.

So I went through and picked out one of the most recognizable scene and recreated it.
I searched Pinterest and Ebay for a dress that matched the party dress the pig wore.
I found one and bid on it and when it arrived it was perfect. I added a felt peter pan collar
to match the pigs dress and some ribbon. I drew the pig and put her on a bunch of cut out
party hats and stuck her on the wall, we couldn't do all this without the pig!
I loved how it turned out and I hope looking back she enjoys it too. The rest of the
shots where based off of a crown headband that I found in H&M while Christmas
shopping back in November. I also managed to find the dress at Old Navy that same night.

Happy Birthday Kennedy!

The first week.

Here I am starting a new year and a new 365 project. This year I vow to finish this project
and end the year with 365 images. To bring my camera out even more then I did
last year and to get more pictures printed. Nothing is better than waking up and
looking at my beautiful pictures hanging on my walls. It's a constant reminder of how
lucky I am. Here's to the New Year and finishing what we started!

Welcome 2015!
I'm excited to see what this year will bring, I can't even imagine.

This kid has some imagination and I love it. I will never forget at my kindergarten
graduation I won an award for best imagination. So we'll say she gets that from me!

First fortune of the year.

Someone came down with a little stuffy nose on New Years and this is how I found her,
lounging around like it's her job. If only that was a job.

"Fixing Mama."
I didn't know it was broken...

Since fruit isn't really in season right now, I've jumped on a grilled vegetable kick.
They make the house smell amazing and the colors are just beautiful.

I don't order enough of the pictures I take, but that is going to change this year.
